The fine folks over at Evilsoft.org posted a little bit of trickery to get your most needed but flagged incompatible extensions working, So Firefox 1.5.0.1 killed your extensions. However, the tutorial needed a touch of tweaking on my end as the file referenced, default.ugt, was M.I.A. as well as not being in the directory referenced, Firefox\Profiles\–note, this is for my work machine, Windows XP; the fine folks over at Ubuntu haven’t placed a more recent version of Firefox in the repository and I am too lazy to build it on my own. That being said his trick of adjusting the max version number is just what the doctor ordered to get Spellbound back and working because honestly, do you really want to suffer through both poor grammar and spelling? I think not. So what I did was to tweak the extensions.rdf file which can be found in Firefox\Profiles\[Alphanumeric GUID].default using the guidelines provided. Just locate the ones that are marked NS1:maxVersion=\”1.5\” and change it to NS1:maxVersion=\”1.5.0.*\”. Now, I look like I can spell.
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. —Voltaire
There are men - now in power in this country - who do not respect dissent, who cannot cope with turmoil, and who believe that the people of America are ready to support repression as long as it is done with a quiet voice and a business suit.—John Lindsay
