Thankfully the only damage was to the wallet, $477–we also now have a quote in hand to have that tree and 3 others removed for $3k but could see that go down if we can get our neighbour to go in on some removal as well. *Sigh* House = Money^10

On the plus side, Management did hint that she’s open to revisiting the server in a couple of months so there’s hope yet!

We ended up having Distinctive Tree Care come out at around 5:30 PM to cut it down. I emailed them pictures at around 4 PM after talking to the dispatcher, 15 minutes later an arborist called saying, “If you want to keep that new oil tank of yours we have to cut it now.” As it turns out only a 1/2″ of wood was holding it up. Yikes!

Down the street, one of our neighbors had a 40′ maple twisted right off the trunk about 8′ from the roots. It was like a giant grabbed it like a dandelion, spun it around and tossed it to the side. All the branches were still intact as it lay some 5′ from their house. Hell of a storm, I tell you.
