For the past two weekends I’ve been playing lumberjack with my dad, climbing around trees felled in a recent storm, wielding chainsaws and saws, and generally playing at being more macho than my sysadmin ladyfingers belie. Unfortunately I did not have the presence of mind to take pictures of the trees before we began working but the main tree pictured below was about 60′ in height and had come crashing down into the neighbor’s yard taking about another four smaller ones with it.

It makes for some serious cutting…

Two more trees, both mostly uprooted…

Here’s the results of our labor thus far:

We’re going to try and get our hands on a 20″ chainsaw to finish up the rest of the big tree and that should give us firewood for a least season or two.

Trees? What are those, I live in Arizona, I have no clue of what you are talking about. JK. Look on the bright side, atleast you have alot of firewood for the winter.
LOL! We limited ourselves last year to burning because of the cost of seasoned firewood so this is actually a fortuitous accident.
