Lessons of Pax Romana

The New York Times has a nice piece on the burning of Ostia and the beginning of the fall of the republic. The Ivory Tower bitch in me likes to play mental masturbation with Roman history. For giggles, read Gibbon’s work with a stack of contemporary newspapers; depressingly enlightening.

I remember seeing that article on the nytimes.com, but the headline didn’t grab my attention for me to click and read. So thanks for highlighting this. Definitely an interesting read, especially comparing history with more contemporary times. Were you a history major? :o)

Nah, Organizational Communication, which, unsurprisingly, I have had little use for in the real world other than playing “Armchair CEO” and since I’m collecting diploma’s like Pokemon my MBA boosts the stats of the first degree making me a formidable Tuesday morning quarterback. ;-)
