Actually, in addition to being amusing, this is interesting to me for professional reasons also. In Ontario, public libraries are under no requirement to filter Internet access even for children. As I understand it, this is not the case in the US. Many libraries here do filter. We do not, for a number of different reasons (intellectual freedom, worthlessness of filter technology, etc.).
Good ol’ Land of the Free down here…and, yeah, nearly all filter software sucks for the simple fact that they generate a huge amount of false positives.
Yeah, it’s a good thing we have the Coast Guard on Lake Michigan armed and ready to protect our freedoms against those godless Canadians.
You best believe that I do not want any socialized medicine or affordable prescription drugs washing up on our shores!
Actually, aren’t you already siphoning off a lot of our affordable prescription drugs through online pharmacies?
