Been thinking about making the move to WP 2.1 but am dreading the labor involved as I’ll need to update 5 plug-ins for certain but there are a handful of questionable ones hanging over my head. Plus, I’ll need to update K2 and I’m using a hacked up template so I’ll have to take some time to test and debug. Certainly not something I can fit in between feedings and diaper changes.

Yeah, I haven’t checked my plugins yet. Was a little worried about the mysql 3.23 discontinuation at work but at least we are on version 4 as it turns out…
Yeah, I’m thinking that I might mirror the site and see how the upgrade goes before committing to it. Y’all know how many times I’ve blundered these upgrades before…
Just upgraded the library’s blog and it seems to have been no problem. Then again, only 3 plugins running here!
Alright, let’s see what kind of damage I can do…
Ok, upgrade is done and it was relatively painless. the only catch is that only one of my emusic dls is showing instead of nine…
The rich text editor defaults to a smaller font than before…that really irritated me until I tracked down the relevant css file..
Shit be ass broken now.
Ok, back up.
1. Need to purge cache in FF for the editor to be operational
2. Flickr Photo Album breaks the file upload capabilities plus the config page just spins endlessly. No word yet on a fix from Tan Tan Noodles.
3. Take a nap before fucking around with these types of upgrades. Feeling fresh goes a long way in mitigating a psychotic break.
The editor breaks firefox’s spellchecker and the builtin spellchecker doesn’t work. WTF? I’m thinking of leaving my home installation alone…
Whew. This was an arduous upgrade that needed plenty of tweaking to get back to a stable and useful place. The blame rests on me, though, for hacking the crap out of others templates. Maybe I should start working on my own template…
