Pardon Our Appearance

The move went somewhat smoothly, with the database backup needing a minor tweak as I am running MySQL 5.0 at home and 1and1 is running 4.0.whatever. The biggest headache has been migrating all the old uploads and themes which for whatever reason was causing piles of permissions errors. Because of that odd snag I’ve decided to start with a fresh coat of CSS which explains the fugly. Bear with me while I try and get things looking nice again. :-D

Ha! Yeah, I burned sometime cleaning things up and getting it nice and tidy. If only I was so motivated to do that to my yard!

The new header is awesome. Good luck with 1and1. They’re my host and I can vouch that they have virtually zero downtime. My only complaint is they don’t allow ftp resume, so if you’re uploading a 100MB file and the transfer fails halfway through, you have to delete the broken copy on the server and try again. Very annoying if you have a spotty ISP.

I’ve been using 1and1 for a couple of years now (migrated from a free package to paid hosting last year) for candiedpop.com (man, I really need to start writing again over there!). So far no complaints other than I wish the databases could be bigger than 100MB as I like to use wp-slimstat to track my traffic and compare it against Google analytics and Feedburner.
