When all is still, she is a little doll

Most days she runs. Springing out of bed with the sunrise and deep into the evening, sometimes after storytime, her legs are pumping and her body rarely at rest. This is just a rare moment of stillness.

My friends and I are heading out.

The Yo Gabba Gabba! gang and Big Bird are her constant companions and there is never a trip taken without out some or all of them clutched tightly. We have duplicates and triplicates but, she being as wily as only a two year old can, knows the difference between first string and benchwarmer.

Let me show you my monster mouth.

Gabi is obsessed with Halloween, more in particular anything to do with monsters, ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and anything that creeps about in the shadows. We have been watching more hours than we care to log of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and Monster House. She does occasionally mix things up and toss in Spirited Away into the rotation but that still fits the general bill of the supernatural.

She is an unstoppable pastry eating machine, no baked good is safe in her presence.

Stirring from slumber (Experiments in Post Processing with Gimp)

After shooting with my 350D for the last two years I am beginning to actually take a look at the tools I have available and fiddle around to see what I can do to enhance or improve my images. This is my first attempt at leveraging Ufraw for strictly white balance and temperature adjustment and Gimp for a tone mapping and color adjustments. For this image I created three layers:

Top = Multiply, 30% Transparency
Middle = Divide, Desaturate-Average, Invert, 50% Transparency
Bottom = Original image

This image is a little noisy because I saved it down for the web to save a couple of pennies with hosting, you can see the original on Flickr (only if we are contacts, I’m still hiding from Orkut).

Sharing is caring.
