Strawberry Hedgehog's Mending Mineral SoapI have several loves in life: music, Linux, Mexican food, dry socks, and a clean shaved head. Finally, thanks to Strawberry Hedgehog my cranium is comfortable.

I’ve been scraping my scalp clean for the better part of 15 years and I have tried every cream, lotion, soap, and razor imaginable–with the notable exceptions of waxing and straight razors, call me a coward. Moreover, his is the absolute first time I have ever stumbled on any product that made me want to climb on my roof and shout, “I’m bald and proud and I no long suffer from an itchy dry scalp after shaving!”

The Mending Minerals soap is up for some serious shaving. And the list of pros is solid….

  • Smells good, mild and full of understated machismo
  • Good lather that is low and full of tiny bubbles
  • Rinses easily from the razor blade (most creams and soaps clog the razor so you waste valuable shaving time banging it clean)
  • Moisturizes the scalp while you scrape
  • One bar will go a very long way, it has a density so great all the other bars of soap in the bathroom will be pulled into orbit around it
  • So damn cheap

The soap is a criminally cheap $8USD per bar and I’ve been using mine everyday for over a month and it has barely begun to shrink so the value is there in spades. Shaving with it is a joy because the low lather keeps your razor clean while shaving and the oils in the soap keep the blades from nicking. At the risk of sounding any more like a shill than I already do, if you shave your head try this soap–I suspect that it’ll work on faces as well but because my head is on upside down I have not tested it in that capacity.

I love this soap and my passion for it is totally unsolicited.
