That’s me. Bald. Furry faced. Sarcastic. But not everything about me centers on hirsute cynicism.

I pay the bills as a Linux Sysadmin managing a Rails stack inside EC2 and when I can carve the time I am trying to learn a little Ruby. Before this I worked as a Windows Sysadmin and while it was a wage I grew to dislike the Microsoft way of doing things so while on that job I began the process of learning Linux administration by experimenting on my family. The ability to tinker is what I love most about the Open Source community; I am free to be who I am and build whatever I dream.

• I am a one time bass player that dreams of playing as well as Mingus, Jamerson, and Squire.
• I read an inordinate amount of Science Fiction.
• I like to swap books on BookMooch.
• I have been an eMusic subscriber for over eight years.
• Between eMusic, Amazon MP3 and CDs I have over 40,000 songs in my music collection.
• I cannot dance.
• I wish I could play the drums.
• I ditched cable and watch all my TV through Netflix and Hulu on a Mac Mini hooked to my TV.
• I love to travel but have not been on a plane in over 15 years.
• I don’t drink and I don’t smoke.
• I am an unrepentant atheist.
• I love to mountain bike but, like planes, have not been on one in a while.
• I’d love to make my living as a photojournalist traveling the world.
• I live with my wife in a 1,100SF slab style ranch with a Greyhound, a Catahoula Leopard Dog, a toddler, and two cats. It is just enough space.
• If it weren’t for the Internet I think I could go off the grid.
• I want to be a professional student.
