Yeti Leaves Home

Yeti Leaves Home

At some point in our lives, the place and people we grew up with are not ours to call home anymore. “Yeti Leaves Home” tells the tale of one young Yeti’s travels, as he sets out to make a new home for himself.  The book also relates to those moments in children’s lives when the act of growing up requires their independence and confidence.  Join Yeti through his many trials and triumphs and share the joy of all the friends he meets along the way.  Will Yeti find a place to call his own?

It’s this sort of thing that I love Kickstarter for, someone has a story they want to tell and it can happen. This is not to mention that it can, and often does, remove those barriers between the creators and the consumers. In the disintermediated model of Kickstarter a conversation can grow between the participants and a deeper relationship can be formed.

Plus, like parfait, everyone loves Yetis.

I Love Kutiman

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

I often get excited about new things everyday exclaiming their life changing properties but Kutiman is something different. DJ Shadow’s album Entroducing… shattered all my ill-conceived notions of art and music and clear my mind for the notion of cutting and pasting sound collages, Kutiman takes that to the next logical step by mining YouTube videos for melodies and rhythms and then stitching them together to form hilarious Funk breakdowns, grinding Drum and Bass anthems, or haunting ballads.

My favorite track (video?) by far is I’m New as the vocalists are sublime…

Someday is a close second as Sarah Amstutz has a wonderful voice.

My home directory as art.

While doing a little spring cleaning on the laptop I stumbled on a neat utility in Disk Usage Analyzer that will make an image out of a specified directory.  Pretty wild how the directory structure can translate into an eye pleasing piece of art.
