Rust on White

Bridging the Blue

Security cameras fascinate me in that they so aptly represent the unflinching, uncaring, and unreasoning bureaucratic systems and people who have bought into the notion of surveillance as security.  While they pique a sort of curiosity in me they also tend to make me sad and a little anxious at the same time.

The last two shots are of the roof to the new science center being erected near the river.  The roof is this weighty object the ponderously hangs in the sky with its only support being a series of spindly legs.

Year Two: Week Five

Greyt Eye

Today, we had a twelve yard dumpster delivered for what I am affectionately calling The Great Chuck. We had a minor flood in my office after the hot water expansion tank sprung a leak and the damage revealed asbestos tiles under the carpet which needed to be abated. With the room emptied out and stripped down we now have the perfect opportunity to make that room a true office as well as clean out the house from nearly a decade of living together.

We plan on keeping up the momentum that we are building. After we finish throwing everything out, painting, tiling, hanging bookshelves, and furnishing the office we’ll be starting a capital fund to tackle the wall to wall carpet that mars the remainder of the house. Since we have radiant floor heating we are limited in choice but we have pretty much settled on a floating bamboo floor as a replacement.

This is the year we re-imagine, re-model, and re-cast our lives and home.
