Ice Cream, Walks, and Bikes

While working and raising a daughter creates some temporal distortion where days feel far shorter there are moments which seemingly stretch out in a near endless reach.  Ice cream, strolls, and riding are some of the activities that make summer feel like it did in childhood and I wish that it could be longer than it’s brief ninety or so days.

Late Afternoon Dinner

Dinner is probably my favorite meal with Gabriella because it usually that moment in the day when I really begin shutting down for those hours before she goes to bed. Sometimes we sit quietly like the above pictures and sometimes we sing and clap our way through the meal. No matter what we do as long as we do it together as a family.

Weekend at the Pool, Part Two

Much of our time was spent running around the playground last weekend.  She never tires of climbing, running, and scooping up sand except when she needs a drink.

Weekend at the Pool

Duck Walk

We spent the whole weekend at the pool chasing Gabi around the playground and watching her do her best backstroke.  Made for a busy yet relaxing time.

Gabi’s Close-Up

I’ve been remiss in doing much beyond work and need to find balance again. Spending time with Gabi goes a long way in centering me even if it is just having her sit quietly in my lap.
