The weather for the past couple of days has been truly gloomy with a thick cloud cover and a heavy haze that sort of squeezes your chest. Last night it broke somewhat with a downpour that laid out most of the plants in our yard and completely saturated the ground. Peri and I went out for a quick walk this morning–sadly, something that is happening with less frequency due to the demands of the baby and work–and stumbled upon some nice pictures of insects reveling in the moisture or just trying to get away from it.

One of the things I would like to get is a nice wide angle macro lens so I can really get close to the subjects. I’ve been finding all sorts of life teeming inside flowers and around groves of mushrooms but I cannot seem to get close enough for them to be distinct. Ah well, that is my life, an ever growing wish list of toys!
